iFLiWi FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is iFLiWi right for you and for your project or business? Learn more about iFLiWi Professional Drone Services and capabilities by reviewing iFLiWi’ biography, qualifications, FAQ’s and recording samples by selecting one of the options below:
ABOUT SERVICE AREA & AVILABILITY
Why mobilize an entire project team to inspect a job site when you can view just about any on-site landscape, condition, or equipment from the convenience, comfort, and safety of your home or office, and from nearly any vantage point that you can possibly specify in real-time?
Q: “Where does iFLiWi fly?”
A: “While the primary iFLiWi service area is southeastern Wisconsin, iFLiWi can fly in other regions and states as well.”
Q: “How far can iFLiWi travel?”
A: “Depending upon job scope, duration, etc., iFLiWi can travel within several hours of the Milwaukee area. Jobs beyond convenient driving distance might be cost prohibitive.”
Q: “How quickly can iFLiWi mobilize?”
A: “Depending upon time of day, ongoing work, weather, site location, and client/project needs, iFLiWi may be able to start flying the same day or in as little as 1 hour. Flight plans that are subject to significant ground traffic, obstructions, or other hazards may require additional time for flight planning, especially in cases where air traffic control / FAA permission is required.”
Q: “Are iFLiWi discounts available?”
A: “Yes, volume discounts are available for repeat customers that are contingent upon price and quantity.”
ABOUT WEATHER LIMITATIONS
Why mobilize an entire project team to inspect a job site when you can view just about any on-site landscape, condition, or equipment from the convenience, comfort, and safety of your home or office, and from nearly any vantage point that you can possibly specify in real-time?
Q: “Can iFLiWi fly in strong winds?”
A: “Yes, although high winds, both at ground level and above ground level, can easily create conditions that are unsafe, impractical, or even impossible to accomplish unmanned aircraft flight missions. While it may be safe to fly at ground level, the wind levels can be substantially higher at higher altitudes above aircraft wind ratings, which must be accounted for in pre-flight planning..”
Q: “Can iFLiWi fly in the fog”?
A: “The FAA requires that operations are conducted while maintaining a line-of-sight connection with the aircraft. Fog can easily reduce visibility below 3 miles.”
Q: “Can iFLiWi fly in rain or snow?”
“Flight in precipitation poses special risks and might be evaluated on a per case basis. Icing and freezing rain can pose special hazards to remote aircraft operation. .”
Q: “Can iFLiWi drones fly at night?”
“A: Yes, although the FAA allows certified Part 107 certified pilots to fly at night, the aircraft must operate with a strobe light that can be seen for several miles. Also, special lighting, camera equipment, or ample ambient or subject light levels may be required..”
Q: “Can iFLiWi fly in any temperature?”
“Flight in precipitation poses special risks and might be evaluated on a per case basis. Icing and freezing rain can pose special hazards to remote aircraft operation. .”
Q: “C?”
“A: .”
ABOUT HAZARDS & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
Why mobilize an entire project team to inspect a job site when you can view just about any on-site landscape, condition, or equipment from the convenience, comfort, and safety of your home or office, and from nearly any vantage point that you can possibly specify in real-time?
Q: “Can RFI or high voltages impact drone operation?”
A: “Yes, .”
Q: “Can physical obstructions disrupt drone control?”
A: “Yes; this is why FAA pilots fly while maintaining VLOS (visual line of sight) with their aircraft..”
Q: “Can iFLiWi drones operate in the proximity of fire, smoke, and noxious or flammable gasses?”
“Yes, although close exposure to radiant heat and high temperature gasses can adversely affect aircraft electronics and operation, and flying within certain gas clouds (visible or invisible) may cause damage to aircraft.”
Q: “Can iFLiWi drones operate indoors or within confined spaces?”
“A: Yes, although obstacles encountered during indoor flight may pose a risk to aircraft, personnel, and equipment.”

Why mobilize an entire project team to inspect a job site when you can view just about any on-site landscape, condition, or equipment from the convenience, comfort, and safety of your home or office, and from nearly any vantage point that you can possibly specify in real-time?
Q: “How high can iFLiWi drones fly?”
A: “Also most drones can fly at elevations beyond what is practical for photos, flights must be limited to 400 feet above ground or above the height of the tallest object within a 400 foot vicinity. Exceptions require a waiver..”
Q: “How far can iFLiWi drones fly?”
A: “Drones must be operated within pilot/observer line of sight. Exceptions require a waiver. Drone operation from a vehicle may extend range to in excess of 15 miles.”
Q:”How fast can iFLiWi drones fly?”
A: “iFLiWi drones can be safely operated at speeds in excess of 40 miles per hour. Exceptions may be made for special applications which employ drones capable of higher speeds for flights of short duration. “
Q: “How long can iFLiWI drones fly?”
“A: Most iFLiWi quadcopter drones are capable of flight for durations of 20-35 minutes, depending upon the mission requirements, flight plan/performance, and weather conditions. “
